SaruSaru DS is a survival simulation game in the motif of the survival life of primitive people in the Stone Age.

You can experience the process of human ancestors adapting to the rapid changes of natural environment and evolving by producing resistant and stronger offspring. In order for apes to survive and evolve in extreme environments, getting the food supply and child births are the most important key elements. In these key elements in mind, you will need to give them the correct directions.

You can choose one direction from command menu, but there is only one choice you can make per a season. The game is over when all the apes of your tribe are gone due to death from starvation, injury, sickness or life duration.

■Goal of the Game

?Evolve apes to human. You are the leader!?

The player will be in the position of giving direction to the apes in a tribe. You will decide everyone’s action and behavior, as well as the area to migrate. Leisure activities will advance the evolution and invention of apes. They will have more time for leisure activities by getting food supply effectively. The goal of this game is to evolve apes to human quickly by giving correct direction for them to survive and develop the tribe.

?Hunt various chases and complete your dress-up collection!?

In the game, there are over 50 kinds of chases apes can hunt and you may be able to receive a spoil other than food. You can create clothes and accessories with the spoils and change the apes’ dresses.

Apes will hunt the chase to get “meat”. Apes may be hurt.

Apes will gather “fruit” and “shellfish” in the region.

Apes will make stone tools. Stone tools will make hunting easier.

Apes may invent something through leisure activities. Also, more ancestors may be produced when a pair of male and female apes takes a leisure time together.

When there are no more food or chase around, you can make your apes migrate to find a new home.

■Growth of Apes

Apes have six stages of life: “baby” “childhood”, “boyhood/girlfood”, “adolescence”, “middlescence”, and “senium”. Picture of apes will change with their life stage. You may not be able to give certain directions to certain apes, when they are in certain age or pregnant. Therefore you will need to try to make a good balance between apes in one tribe.

On rare occasions, there are apes born with silver hair.
When they grow up, they will have a great ability…!?
They will probably be a big helper for your tribe.

■Hunting is a “battle”!

?In order to survive, you need meat, meat, and more meat!?

Apes will need not only fruits or shellfish, but also meat in order to live.
And so we will introduce you some of the important points for hunting!

[Choosing the chase]

You will first need to choose a chase. The chase may come as a group, so it is important to choose a chase from the group that looks weaker than the hunting apes in order to prevent injury.

[Method of a fight]

For hunting, you will need to move apes and change formation to fight. Apes will start attacking the chase closest to them, so it is easier to surround a chase. However, there is also a risk. If an ape was attacked, the other close by him may also get hurt when two apes are too close to each other. So you will need to change formation as the situation demands.

Apes will be able to hit the chase better when they are closer to the chase. Inside of the circle is the “close range” and outside of the circle is the “far distance”. You can change the distance by choosing “hit” or “throw”. The stone tool is very fragile and will break regardless of the distance. *The fragility will ease by the ape’s parameter of “technique” and “experience point of hunting”.

When the ape is hurt, he cannot only keep fighting but also it will take time for his injury to heal. If they have no stone tool and it seems as they cannot win the fight, you may want to choose “return” and stop hunting in order to prevent injury.
